KPV.

Lysine-proline-valine — a synthetic tripeptide corresponding to the C-terminal three residues of α-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). The parent α-MSH is a 13-residue neuropeptide characterized across decades of endocrine literature.

α-MSH is a hormone your pituitary and skin cells produce. KPV is the tail-end fragment of that sequence — laboratory-synthesized, not derived from tissue, and not the full parent hormone.

Sold with anti-inflammatory implications the ambient marketing rarely bothers to source. The parent α-MSH inflammatory literature is real; the specific KPV fragment work is a much smaller subset, most of it preclinical.

Straight talk

Straight talk: the KPV fragment has published in vitro and animal-model work on inflammatory signaling. Human trial data at doses commonly discussed online is essentially absent. The molecular basis is interesting; the therapeutic evidence has not caught up.

What the research studies

The literature, not a summary of it.

The parent α-MSH literature is broad and long-running. KPV-specific work centers on smaller preclinical groups (Cheresh, Getting, Brzoska). Journals: FASEB J, J Immunol, Peptides. Read the research yourself:
